I build web software end to end. I write React and TypeScript on the front, Node.js services and REST APIs behind them, and I own the AWS, CI/CD and DNS underneath. In practice I am usually the person who can answer for the whole path rather than one layer of it.

Most of my work now is AI systems, and most of that is retrieval quality, guardrails and failure paths. The interesting engineering is rarely the model itself. It is everything around it.

I like problems that cross layers, where the bug could be in a React component or in a webhook payload three services away and you genuinely do not know which yet. The parts nobody demos usually end up mine: deploy pipelines, DNS, the job that runs at 3am. They are the difference between something that works in a demo and something that works on a Tuesday.

Before this: three years freelancing for my own clients, two years as a senior service technician, training the people who came after me, and an Associate of Science in Computer Science from Langara.

Away from the keyboard: FPS games, more music than is reasonable, and an ongoing pomegranate juice habit.

1. Full-Stack Engineer (AI-Enabled)

   Oct 2025 - Present
   Alexander Innovation Centre · Vancouver, BC · Full-time
   • Own architecture across AI platforms, backend services and integrations, from data model and API design through to deployment.
   • Build agent systems on the OpenAI and Claude APIs. The team has 25+ agents live in production, with prompt engineering, RAG pipelines, knowledge bases and guardrails keeping output predictable.
   • Build and maintain our in-house voice engine, which handles thousands of calls a week across Twilio, Vapi and ElevenLabs, including routing, latency tuning and handoff to human agents.
   • Ship full-stack features across React and TypeScript frontends and Node.js services backed by SQL and NoSQL databases.
   • Built the real-time webhook and lead-ingestion pipelines from scratch, with custom field mapping and PHP integrations into existing tooling.
   • Automated CRM, lead management and scheduling workflows that used to run by hand, including Nylas calendar integration.
   • Design and maintain the CI/CD and GitHub Actions workflows the team deploys through; manage AWS, DNS, Cloudflare and cPanel.
   • Review PRs for a team of five, mentor and onboard engineers, take part in hiring, and have worked with clients across 5 pilot deployments.
2. Full-Stack Engineer

   • Built internal tools and full-stack features with React, TypeScript, Redux, Node.js and Firebase.
   • Integrated REST APIs and database layers across PostgreSQL and Firebase Firestore.
   • Built reusable, accessible, responsive UI components and refactored legacy code, working in Agile sprints with cross-functional teams.
3. Frontend Developer

   • Built responsive sites from Figma designs, including custom WordPress, WooCommerce and Shopify builds.
   • Worked in PHP, jQuery and SASS, improving UI/UX and frontend performance across client sites.
4. Full-Stack Developer, freelance

   • Built and deployed client web applications and dashboards in React, Node.js and PostgreSQL.
   • Integrated third-party APIs and services, deploying on Vercel, Render and Netlify.
5. Senior Computer Service Technician

   • Diagnosed hardware and software faults, performed system upgrades, trained new technicians and dealt with customers directly.

Small things I built

Weekend and evening projects. None of these are production systems, and none of them are the work I would point at first. They are here because they are public and because I enjoyed building them.
